A Beaker with the Coats of Arms of Paulus X Harsdörffer von Fischbach

clear glass, cut, base with monogram “PHSCD”, slightly tapering body, the front with crowned coats of arms on a matt ground, encircled by two branches, the reverse with a village landscape with a body of water and figures, below a later inscription “A:1721. DEN 1. AUG: IST DIESES GLASZ VON NEU GEHEBTEN STADEL HERUNTER GEWORFEN WORDEN”, height 13.4 cm, (Hr) Prov.: 1991 Glasgalerie Michael Kovacek, Vienna. The beaker, made for the wedding, was evidently thrown to the ground on the occasion of the inauguration of a barn. As it did not break, this was recorded in the later inscription.
