A DIVISION ONE GEMSTOME SHAPE BUTTON

1 RARE medium 19th century carved JET example. Genuine Jet buttons are considered rare especially for the age of this example from the late 1800's. When Queen Victoria went in to mourning she wors black for 40 years, the common folk. Wanting to emulate her had to wear black glass buttons as they could not afford genuine Jet examples, only she and the aristocrat wealthy could at the time. Perhaps this rare example at one point belonged to Queen Victoria, you never know. However to suffice it to day these are very hard to find. Dimensions: SM=Less than 3/4", Medium=3/4" to 1 1/4".
