A Rare and Outstanding Pair of Small Louis XV Commodes

‘à fleurs’, so-called commodes sauteuses, c. 1760, stamped L. BOUDIN (1735-1807, master 1761), slightly bombé and curved hardwood bodies on gently curved legs, veneered in rosewood and other exotic woods, some stained, richly decorated with floral marquetry, each with two drawers of so-called sans traverse construction, different moulded marble tops (one of them ‘Brèche d’Alep’), partly fire-gilt bronze decorative mounts, c. 83 x 82 and 81 x 47 and 45 cm respectively, restored condition.
