BRANTÔME. The Seven Discourses on Gallant Ladies, published from the National Library manuscript by Henri Bouchot. Paris: Librairie des bibliophiles, Jouaust, 1882. In-8, blue morocco, Jansenist style, tobacco-colored morocco lining adorned with a large interlaced design embellished with azure ironwork in the 16th-century style, blue brocaded silk endpapers, gilt edges, slipcase (Canape). Portrait of the author and 9 illustrations by Beaumont, engraved by Boilvin. Printed in an edition of 220 copies on large-format paper; this is one of 20 on China paper, with the engravings as double proofs, bound at the end of the volume. A unique copy, embellished with 9 exquisite original full-page watercolors by Maurice Leloir. A copy belonging to Arthur Meyer, founder and director of *Le Gaulois* and founder of the Grévin Museum.
