(C) NAGOYA TYPE 97 ARISAKA BOLT ACTION RIFLE SNIPER RIFLE. Based on the Type 38 Arisaka, the Type 97 proved a formidable sniper rifle in World War II. As standard with blued finish, protected blade front sight, ladder rear, turned down bolt handle, and hardwood stocks. Imperial chrysanthemum is intact. Receiver retains its scope base although no scope is present. Matching numbers observed on receiver, bolt handle, safety, and bayonet lug. CONDITION: Fair. Arsenal finishes have largely drifted to patina with areas of pitting. Stocks have older added varnish and some paint. Handguard is a replacement and is somewhat ill fitting with contemporary screws.
