A0000003945 The Cartier Cougar Must de Cartier fountain pen presented in this lot is in excellent overall condition, displaying a very well cared-for appearance fully in line with a piece of its category and era. The body and cap in black resin with a godron pattern are preserved with very good shine and definition in the vertical grooves, with no material losses or deformations. The surface shows only extremely light signs of superficial use, practically imperceptible to the naked eye and typical of careful handling over time. The set maintains an elegant and highly attractive aesthetic. The gold-plated elements — clip, rings and fittings — have a bright and uniform finish, with excellent visual presence. No significant wear is observed on the plating, and the pieces retain their structural and aesthetic integrity. The solid 18-karat gold nib (750), engraved with the Cartier emblem, is in very good condition, correctly aligned and preserving a clean tipping. The feed keeps its fins in perfect structural condition, guaranteeing proper ink flow regulation. The writing system has been inspected and tested for correct operation, delivering the piece fully operable and ready to write, as is customary for pieces prepared by Collecting Legacy. A red Cartier original case is also included, presenting a good overall condition with light normal signs of storage. Overall, this is a very well-preserved fountain pen, elegant and perfectly functional, ideal for both everyday use and collection. Conservation recommendations To preserve the pen in optimal condition, it is recommended to use high-quality fountain pen inks, avoiding pigmented inks or inks with particles. If the pen will not be used for an extended period, it is advisable to clean it with lukewarm water, dry it properly before storing it, and keep it in a dry place, away from direct light and extreme temperatures. It is also recommended to operate the filling system gently to maintain the mechanism in perfect condition over time. It will be shipped in a courtesy box for proper preservation. Happy bidding!
