CHINA--EMPIRE. Lot of (5). 1903 5% Cheng-Tai Railway Loan (Emprunt 1902). Bond for 500 Francs and Scrip Certificates. K-110, K-110 SCRIP A and B. Very Fine to Extremely Fine. Signed by Sheng Xuan Huai. According to Kuhlmann, 17,475 bonds remain outstanding, but 'so far this bond seems to be much rarer than one would expect at an outstanding number of 17,475 bonds'. Scarce. Also includes four scrip certs. This loan was agreed between the Imperial Chinese Government and French syndicates to fund the construction of the railway connecting Zhengding County (Shijiazhuang) and Taiyuan.
