From a private collection, painting in very good condition, wooden frame with signs of wear in good condition (stability ensured by adhesive) This old unsigned work, of fine craftsmanship, is of a quality that will delight the lover of seascapes and harbor views. The light of dawn with its play of reflections on the sea is remarkably rendered. The composition is built on three successive planes: in the foreground, the old traditional thoniers cast their shadow on the waves. The second plane shows two "pointus" (small Mediterranean boats) of which one, by its whiteness, captures the glow of the morning light. The background is structured by the architecture of the houses of the small port whose façades rise toward the sky. The spontaneity mastered in broad, generous strokes brings movement to the sails and the reflections.
