Escuela Impresionista Europea (XX) - Calles de Paris

Title: Streets of Paris ㅤ School: European Impressionist (20th century) ㅤ Style: Urban Impressionism ㅤ Technique: Oil on canvas ㅤ State: Generally good conservation state, with slight signs of aging throughout. ㅤ Circle and artistic influence: The work is integrated into the tradition of the Paris urban landscape developed by Impressionist and Post-Impressionist painters, especially interested in depicting boulevards, pedestrians and reflections on wet pavements. Its approach recalls the commercial evolution of mid-20th-century Parisian painting, heir to authors such as Édouard Cortès and the Montmartre tradition. ㅤ Urban view of a busy Parisian avenue after rain. The pedestrians move among shops and monumental buildings while the wet pavement reflects lights, colors and silhouettes. The impasto and quick brushwork give movement to the scene, highlighting yellows, blues, ochres and greys used to recreate the city’s humid atmosphere. ㅤ It is presented with a commanding frame executed in dark tones, with a light textile mat, white interior profiles and gold details that provide depth to the whole. ㅤ Observations: The work may incur damage during transport even with proper packaging. In that case, photographs of the damages will be required to proceed with compensation.
