Larger vessels were particularly important in agricultural communities, where the storage and preservation of provisions contributed to the organisation of daily life. Bronze Age pottery was generally handmade using locally available clay, often shaped through coil-building techniques before being smoothed and fired. The resulting vessels demonstrate the practical knowledge and craftsmanship of prehistoric potters. Regional ceramic traditions developed across Europe, with similarities in vessel forms and manufacturing methods reflecting cultural contacts and the exchange of techniques between communities. The substantial proportions and characteristic profile of this vessel illustrate the importance of ceramic craftsmanship in Bronze Age society. It provides a direct and tangible connection to prehistoric European communities, where handmade pottery formed an indispensable part of everyday life.
