Focke & Meltzler Porcelain Delftware Hexagonal Ginger Jar

The piece features a faceted, hexagonal bulbous form with vertical ribbing and a stepped foot. It is decorated with hand-painted floral motifs in a traditional palette of ochre, cobalt blue, green, and manganese. The central motif consists of a large floral bouquet, with smaller sprigs scattered throughout the faceted panels. The lid is topped with a molded finial in the form of a seated lion glazed in cobalt blue. The base of the jar bears several hand-painted marks in blue underglaze.
