Bromoil gelatin silver print, with artist's ink stamp and numbering "369 2" to verso, unframed. Sheet size 10 x 8 in. Private Collection, New York, New York; Beaufort, South Carolina; and Charlotte, North Carolina Gifted to the consignor from the artist Vernon Pratt (American, 1940-2000). He is also believed to have studied with Man Ray in Paris during the early 1920s, sharing his interest in experimental photographic techniques. Harvey’s technical investigations extended into photographic chemistry, and his development of specialized film developers and toners ultimately led him to establish the Harvey Chemical Company in New Jersey. Some scattered marks, nicks to edges, and age to the sheet; few spots to verso.
