HONG KONG (SAR). Chartered Bank of India, Australia, & China. 5 Dollars

Attractive 1924 'Rice Pounding' $5 HONG KONG (SAR). Chartered Bank of India, Australia, & China. 5 Dollars, 1.5.1924. P-48. PMG Very Fine 25. A hugely popular note colloquially known as the 'Rice Pounding' $5 in about average condition. The first date on which 'FIVE' and 'WU' appear in red on the note. The colours on the note remain fairly bright and sharp, with just one single annotation on the reverse, which is a plus. The lower left-hand signature is somewhat faded. Overall, a tidy and appealing example, even with the PMG Comment "Repaired." Estimate: $3,600 - $5,000.

Estimate:$1,800
