Three Japanese “speed posters” celebrating the science-fiction and monster cinema of director Ishiro Honda. The lot brings together three distinctive Toho designs: • The Mysterians — 地球防衛軍 Film released in 1957. A richly illustrated composition combining flying saucers, futuristic machinery and a cast montage, with bold red Japanese lettering. • Mothra — モスラ Film released in 1961. Striking yellow typography over a blue-toned photographic montage featuring Mothra and the film’s characters. • Frankenstein vs. Baragon, also known as Frankenstein Conquers the World — フランケンシュタイン対地底怪獣 Film released in 1965. A dramatic typographic design with large ochre lettering against a dark background. Together, the three posters offer a varied display of Japanese film graphics, from colourful science-fiction imagery to bold typographic composition.
