Elegant Izumi Ichiago 'Amboya' Hunting Knife - Japanese VG-10 Damascus Steel & Amboya Red Wood Description: Offered is an elegant hunting knife of absolute collector's quality: the Izumi Ichiago Amboya. This blade embodies a masterful synthesis between a functional, ergonomic design and legendary Japanese smithing. Region of Origin: Sakai / Izumi (Osaka, Japan) This hunting knife comes from the Sakai region (historically Izumi). This Japanese region is world-famous and has delivered for more than 600 years the very highest quality in handmade knives and swords. Craftsmanship from this region is renowned for extreme precision and long durability. Unique German-Japanese Collaboration This knife is the result of a unique cross-pollination: it combines the ancient Japanese forging tradition from Sakai with refined, ergonomic design influences from the renowned German knife designer Ernst Siebeneicher-Hellwig. Consequently, tradition and modern ease of use beautifully complement each other. Blade of Top Quality The razor-sharp blade features a core of superior Japanese VG-10 steel, flanked on both sides by 34 to 36 layers of rust-resistant Japanese damascus steel. This ensures exceptional sharpness, excellent edge retention, and a striking, unique wavy damascus pattern in the steel. Exclusive Handle The ergonomic grip is made from the very costly and valued Amboya Red Wood (Pterocarpus indicus), known for its deep red color and blazing grain. The bolster is fashioned from high-quality stainless steel, providing perfect balance in the hand. -Model: Amboya (Amboya Red Wood Tree) -Type: Fixed-blade hunting and collector's knife -Steel: Japanese VG-10 Damascus steel (34-36 layers) -Total length: 21.0 cm -Blade length: 9.5 cm -Blade thickness: 3.5 mm -Handle length: 11.5 cm -Weight: 150 grams -Includes: sturdy, high-quality leather sheath Please also take a look at my listings for mostly Laguiole knives, and possibly other kinds of knives or cutlery
