Descriptio Mixed media on canvas mounted on a wooden panel. Dimensions: 43 × 56 cm. This urban and architectural work presents a panoramic view of a sprawling industrial city, represented through a composition of marked spatial depth and a color palette dominated by shades of gray, black, and white. The scene is organized around a complex network of buildings, rooftops, streets, and architectural structures that converge toward a high horizon, creating a perspective of great visual dynamism. In the foreground, two large diagonal structures stand out in the central area of the composition, articulating the space and directing the gaze into the depths of the urban landscape. The overlapping of buildings, the fragmentation of volumes, and the gestural treatment of surfaces lend the image an industrial, almost cinematic atmosphere, in which architecture takes center stage. The use of a virtually monochromatic palette, along with rapid brushstrokes, contrasts of light and shadow, and textures with a worn appearance, reinforces the sense of movement and transformation in the contemporary city. This work is part of the artistic investigations of Jonathan Guaitamacchi, an artist whose production explores the representation of the urban landscape and architectural structures through a language that combines figuration, geometric synthesis, and material expressiveness. His visual conception shows affinities with certain compositions by Juan Ugalde (Bilbao, 1958), especially due to his critical and experimental approach to the urban landscape, the transformation of photographic-looking images through painterly techniques, and his interest in architectural spaces as settings for contemporary experience. In both artistic languages, the city ceases to be a mere topographical representation and becomes a space for visual experimentation, where fragmentation, superimpositions, and the tensions between figuration and abstraction acquire a fundamental role. This reference constitutes a stylistic parallel and does not imply an attribution of authorship. The work is signed and titled on the reverse in black marker. It is accompanied by a certificate of authenticity issued by the artist on the back of a photograph. Provenance: Ragni Arte Moderna e Contemporanea; Galleria Il Patio, Ravenna; private collection, Padua (Italy). Lot in international warehouse (within the EU). Intra-EU shipment: no import duties apply within the EU. Export permission from the country of origin may be required.
