Lancia - Appia Convertibile Vignale - 1962

OVERVIEW/CONDITIONS Lancia Appia Vignale convertible 1962, extremely rare and elegant coachbuilt sports car derived from the Lancia Appia; together with Pininfarina and Zagato it represents one of the three Appia-based coachbuilt sports cars, with lines that recall the Flaminia. This specimen was originally delivered in the azure Vincennes color that Vignale also used on Maserati and Ferrari, with a red leather interior. After the Aurelia B24, it is the second spider model from Lancia. After a period of social activity it was repainted in the present color and subsequently abandoned; the car remains in a condition suitable for restoration, the engine is not running, the wheels are free to move and must be retrieved with a tow truck or trailer in the province of Turin. It is missing the front seats (they could be sourced by modifying from the saloon with split seats) and the radiator (one will be provided to be modified in height). The car was found in the 1990s in a garage of a luxurious hillside villa after the property was sold; it is a true barn find. The car is missing plates and documents, so after restoration it must be re-registered as a historic vehicle. Visible in Villastellone, Italy.
