MAGRITTE - Lot 165

MAGRITTE Exhibition catalog. Galleria Nazionale d'Arte Moderna, Rome, April 28–July 4, 1982. De Luca Editore. An important catalog devoted to René Magritte and the Belgian Surrealist movement. Produced for the 1982 exhibition in Rome, it places Magritte’s work within the broader context of the Belgian avant-garde, bringing together paintings, drawings, photographs, documents, and works by artists associated with Surrealism. The book serves as a valuable record of Magritte’s international reception in the early 1980s and remains highly sought after by both admirers of the painter and collectors of specialized exhibition catalogs. Condition noted: worn copy; significant separation of the first section from the binding and a weakened binding.
