The Mamiya RB67 is one of the most iconic and respected medium format cameras in the history of professional photography. Produced by the Japanese company Mamiya starting in the 1970s, it became famous for its extraordinary image quality, extremely robust build, and highly versatile modular system. The name “RB” stands for “Rotating Back,” a reference to the famous rotating back that allows a quick switch from landscape to portrait format without having to rotate the entire camera. The RB67 uses 120 or 220 medium format film and produces large negatives capable of delivering a level of detail, tonal depth, and overall photographic quality far superior to classic 35 mm.
