Maru Piacentini - OPTART ANALYSIS I - 2026 - relieve de pared listo para colgar

About the work: Wall relief with Op Art aesthetic Exceptional wall art piece with a powerful visual and geometric impact. This work stands out for its irregular, three-dimensional format, creating a dynamic chessboard pattern (black and white) that plays with perspective, distortion, and volume depending on the light and the angle from which it is viewed. Technique / Style: Relief / Wall sculpture – Op Art / Optical and Kinetic Art. Design: Distorted geometric pattern on a relief surface. Color palette: Black and white in contrast. Presentation: Designed to be hung directly on the wall without a frame (floating and integrated effect). Condition: Excellent state of conservation. Decoration note / Interior design: Thanks to its sculptural and iconic character, it is a perfect centerpiece piece for modern living rooms, Nordic, minimalist styles, or environments with noble finishes such as wood or exposed concrete. OPTART ANALYSIS I 28 x 26 x 1 cm Medium: black & white porcelain 1220ºC (hand direct sculpted and painted) About the artist: María Eugenia Piacentini (Buenos Aires, 1981), self-taught from a very young age, feels the vital need to create and recreate space without time limits, fascinated by materializing what she visualized only in her mind. She wanted to study plastic surgery but ultimately trained in Applied Arts to Sculpture at the Escuela de Arte La Palma in Madrid and at the Escuela de Cerámica Francisco Alcántara, after working in characterization and makeup for special effects for theater and cinema. Today she sculpts her pieces with surgical precision and dazzling delicacy according to an art critic from Barcelona. She has exhibited individually and collectively in Mallorca, Madrid, Teruel, Valladolid, Zaragoza, Ourense, Rome, Miami, Paris, Zurich, Singapore, Coburg and Munich, with five recognitions as finalist in ceramic work in Spain and in Australia (CERCO 2017 and 2019, Beautiful Bizarre Art Magazine 2025, Certamen Pieza Única 2026 Navarrete and the International Ceramic Biennial of Vendrell) and the GCB prize for one of her most famous pieces “Wolf light” at the Gyeonggi International Ceramic Biennale 2026, South Korea. Piacentini: “Art awakens us from a deep dream, rather throwing us free and conscious into a world that normally does not seem so.” Influenced by Carl Jung, Joseph Campbell, and surrealism, she uses ceramics for its spontaneity, letting the work flow on its own, perhaps pursuing or confessing existential doubts. Her work reflects a cultural and social milestone, manifesting the subconscious and a shared world of magical ideas with emphasis on inner strength despite human vulnerability. Reality speaks with synchronicities and meaningful dreams, inviting her to explore beyond. Through paradox and irreverent imagery she highlights gestures and forms that can communicate symbolism, emotion, narrative, or raw energy. She uses realism and deep expression to impact and awaken the audience from her dream.” Press / art criticism: https://lasiestamagazine.mallorcadiario.com/panorama/el-arte-no-es-morirse-de-frio/summa-y-sigue/ Artist interview: https://www.artmajeur.com/es/magazine/8-retratos-de-artistas/maria-eugenia-piacentini-veron-solo-estaba-en-mi-mente/333583 Solo and group exhibitions of M.
