Chinese Silk Rugs: Masterpieces of Far Eastern Knotting Art Chinese silk rugs are among the most exclusive and finest textiles in the world. They combine a centuries-old tradition with the utmost craftsmanship and are renowned worldwide for their exceptional quality and elegance. The Material: Pure Luxury These rugs are made from pure natural silk. Using silk for both the pile and often for the warp (the backbone) enables an extremely high knot density. The result is an incredibly fine, almost pictorial drawing of the patterns and a surface that feels incredibly soft and supple. Characteristic Shine & Appearance A hallmark of Chinese silk rugs is their luster. The silk refracts light in unique ways, so the colors shift depending on the viewing angle and lighting—sometimes they appear delicate and pastel, sometimes deep and radiant. Many of these rugs also feature a so-called relief cut (contour cut), where the patterns are carved to give them a three-dimensional depth. Size: 245 x 168 cm Thickness: approx. 4 mm Origin: China Manufacturing: Finely hand-knotted from silk Thickness: approx. 200,000 knots per m² Pile: 100% silk Warp: 100% silk Age: approx. 20 to 25 years old Condition/Preservation: Perfect top quality / freshly washed Weight: approx. 15 kg Quantity in stock: ONE-OF-A-KIND - Only 1 in stock
