Pair of Amphora Czecho-Slovakia Ceramic Seahorse Candleholders

Each earthenware candle holder features a circular form with a flared base, decorated with three relief-modeled seahorse figurines supporting a central cylindrical socket. The exterior is finished in a textured, matte dark green mottled glaze with raised cream-colored wavy patterns, while the seahorses are hand-colored in shades of burnt orange, ochre, and brown. The foot of each piece is finished with a dark cobalt blue glazed rim. The underside of each base bears a circular printed mark reading Made in Czecho-Slovakia surrounding the central name AMPHORA. One base also features a small hand-painted blue plus sign mark and impressed numerals 15 and 8, while the other bears three small hand-painted blue dots.
