Descriptio A pair of classically inspired obelisks, carved from yellow Siena marble, a stone especially prized for its rich golden hues and its characteristic veining and small natural inclusions. The choice of material makes each piece unique, where the geometric architecture of the obelisk contrasts with the organic pattern of the stone. The obelisk, inherited from the architecture of ancient Egypt and later incorporated into the monumental language of Rome, became for centuries a symbol of power, permanence, and prestige. Its revival in European decorative arts reached particular prominence in palatial and aristocratic interiors, where pairs of obelisks, columns, and architectural elements in polychrome marbles were used to create compositions with a striking theatrical presence. Dimensions: 33 × 8 × 8 cm each.
