Petrus Scriverius - Batavia Illustrata

Batavia Illustrata, or on the Island of the Batavians, Holland, Zeeland, Friesland, the territory of Traiectum and Gelderland, various notable writers of better quality, now collected for the first time, and printed together - Leiden, Lodewijk Elzevir, 1609 - (8) 232, 184, 56, 40 pp - limp parchment binding Gped. Some loss to the parchment at the head of the spine. Left hinge, about 1 cm. Right hinge about 3 cm torn at the top. Inside hinges reinforced with paper, no flyleaf at the back, a few lines at the top of the first flyleaf written. Pages 203 through 206 nearly loose, the first quire of the second part coming loose at the bottom. Interior browned, here and there a spot, browning at the edges. Several wormholes, a crack, 0.5 to 1 cm, in the margin four leaves. A square corner (winkelhaak) in the middle of page 193/194, about 3 cm. Contains more than 35 woodcuts in the text and 36 portraits in the text - all depicted. Will be sent by registered mail
