Q Wang 12 - Élégance au temps des Années folles ~ Portraits Art déco

Q Wang 12 (1984) — Elegance in the Roaring Twenties ~ Art Deco Portraits Born in Shenzhen, China, in 1984, Qin Wang, who signs his works Q Wang 12, began painting in 2010 after a stay in Paris. Deeply influenced by Art Deco, which he discovered at an exhibition in the French capital, he developed an artistic universe inspired by the Roaring Twenties, where elegant figures meet bold geometric forms and vibrant colours. In this painting, the artist portrays two elegant women with black hair, stylised features and red lips, adorned with refined jewellery. Their profiles stand out against a colourful geometric composition featuring fuchsia pink, luminous yellow, green, blue, black and white. The strong black outlines emphasise the shapes and structure the composition, recalling the aesthetics of stained glass and decorative designs from the interwar period. The treatment of the faces, the clean lines and the flat areas of colour give the scene a sophisticated graphic quality. The interaction between the two figures suggests a quiet sense of complicity and lends the painting timeless elegance. The artist creates a refined world that combines graphic modernity with nostalgia for the Roaring Twenties. This work will appeal to collectors of Art Deco, stylised figurative painting and contemporary interiors seeking a striking, colourful artwork with a distinctive personality.
