Rolling Stones - I Wanna Be Your Man - Japan HIT-323...

Very rare Japanese pressing of The Rolling Stones’ debut single “I Wanna Be Your Man”, released in Japan on London Records with catalogue number HIT-323. This is the highly sought-after second Japanese picture sleeve variation, issued with the rare red sleeve design from 1967. Japanese Rolling Stones singles are already collectable for their distinctive local artwork and pressing variations, but this red second sleeve is one of the most difficult versions to find. A key collector detail is the label variation: this copy has labels without the FFRR logo. The A-side also contains the well-known publishing/credit error, with “I Wanna Be Your Man” incorrectly credited to “Lemon, McCarthy” instead of “Lennon, McCartney.” This makes it especially interesting for both Rolling Stones and Beatles-related collectors, as the song was written by Lennon-McCartney and given to the Stones for their early single release. Condition Cover: VG+ Rare red Japanese picture sleeve with some tape marks, but nevertheless extremely clean and very presentable. Strong colours and a very attractive overall appearance for this scarce sleeve variation. Vinyl: NM The record is very shiny and shows only minimal signs of play. A beautiful NM copy with excellent visual appeal. A very rare Japanese HIT-323 pressing of “I Wanna Be Your Man”, complete with the scarce red second picture sleeve, labels without FFRR logo and the famous “Lemon, McCarthy” miscredit. Carefully packed and shipped by The Vinyl Atelier.
