This earthenware display plate is a piece of Royal Doulton series ware designed by Australian artist David Henry Souter. The central decoration features a black silhouette of two cats with intertwined tails, titled The Honey-Moon in stylized lettering. The wide border is decorated with a yellow ground and Art Nouveau scrollwork, incorporating four female masks with flowing hair and four stylized grey cats in different poses. The rim is finished with a dark green painted edge. The reverse features the Royal Doulton factory mark in underglaze blue. Dimensions: 9.00" dia.
