A fine, later impression of this very rare self-portrait, with inky plate edges and wide margins. Executed circa 1630, Self-Portrait with a Cap Pulled Forward belongs to the small-scale self-portraits Rembrandt produced early in his career. The intimate image presents the young artist at close range, his lowered cap partially obscuring his face and transforming the likeness into a subtle study of shadow and character. – The sheet with a few minor foxing spots. A slight paper crease along the left edge of the plate. Verso with traces of an old mounting, minor surface abrasions and a small stain. Otherwise in good condition. | 1606 Leiden - Amsterdam 1669 | 15.-18. Jahrhundert | Druckgrafik | Nummer: 26x1592
