Tom Lanoye - Kleine Tom en Sint Niklaas / Lieve Papa - 1963

According to his own account, Tom Lanoye could not have been older than five years when, as winner of a declamation contest, he was allowed to record a record in a Brussels recording studio with the then well-known Flemish singer Jenny Lionel. The result is a 45 rpm record on which the duo sings on the A-side “Little Tom and Saint Nicholas” and on the B-side “Dear Dad.” The writers- and composers- collective Pascal-Darlier-Buermans was responsible for both songs. It was most likely for the first time that Tom Lanoye came into national prominence, although the edition of the single will have been around the then customary 300 copies. It did not become a hit. Of the original sleeve, perhaps even fewer copies were made. In any case, the single in this lot has a neutral Philips sleeve and is therefore not necessarily the original sleeve. The record is in good condition. Upon inspection there were no faults or skips on either side. A rarity.
